WELCOME TO ISSUE 131 OF BOUGHTON’S COFFEE HOUSE

With things finally starting to get back to normal and restrictions now cautiously lifted, we’re delighted that events are also back in earnest. You can never underestimate the importance of real interaction – talking to suppliers and fellow independents, sharing advice and information and building relationships and partnerships that play such a huge part in a successful business.

That’s why we are once again the media partner for the Caffè Culture Show, which takes place at the Business Design Centre in London on 2-3 September. On page 11 we have included a selection of some of the  innovative products that will be showcased at this year’s event, demonstrating the diversity of exhibitors and the real benefits of seeing these ‘in action’. With a range of talks, workshops and competitions, it’s also a great place to network and benefit from this huge resource of business know-how.

Our main feature on page 25 – Food for thought – is just that. It’s all about finding clever ways to package your food offering to boost your revenue potential and create a loyal customer base in the process. Our feature on cold brew on page 18 – Cold coffee: the coolest – expands this theme, looking at ways to tap into this lucrative growing fan base. Meanwhile Amy Pay outlines Five ways to be a better boss on page 38. With staff one of the most valuable assets for any business, it’s easy to see why it’s worth making sure your team is a happy one.

We hope you enjoy the issue!
