ISSUE 135 IS NOW LIVE!

Welcome to issue 135 of Boughton's Coffee House.
The weather has finally started to take a turn for the better, and with the extra-long bank holiday around the corner for the Queen’s Jubilee celebration, we are looking forward to some sunny downtime spent in some of our favourite coffee spots!

With that in mind, our main feature this issue examines an aspect of hospitality that can sometimes feel like an afterthought, but when it’s done right, can have huge impact and curb appeal... branding. In Building a brand we look at four companies that have done it right to find out more about the creative process, how your brand can represent you and how paying attention to the look and feel can benefit small businesses.
This issue, we’ve also been on the lookout for some new and up-and-coming products to sample and have discovered a few that are starting to make waves across hospitality. In Sweet as honeybush we learn more about this increasingly popular botanical from South Africa, honeybush, and its producer who is focused on regenerative farming; in Give peas a chance we sample the latest dairy-free trend from Sweden: pea milk... no, it’s not green, but its eco credentials definitely are; and we try some specialty coffee varieties from a developing region in southern India.

Closer to home, in Life support we shine a spotlight on Send Coffee, a fantastic non-profit organisation using coffee as a vehicle to help young adults with special educational needs or disabilities transition into independent adults. Then, taking a broader look, we discover why barista training is vital, especially post-Covid, with some options on getting started.

We hope you enjoy the issue!
